Attention all Clubs and Units: You need to be setting your dates for 2009 as soon as possible. Please contact Chief Rabban Marc Wilson with your dates so that he can complete his calendar. You also need to inform the Ansar Shrine office as soon as you know who your 2009 Officers are going to be. We would like to have time to check all the information for the calendar books and seminar books so that they can be as accurate as possible. Your cooperation will be very much appreciated.

Ansar Novats Christmas Party will be Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at Scoville Banquet Center in Decatur at 7pm. The meal will include Baked Steak, Chicken, and all the trimmings for $ 19.05 per person. Reservations can be made by contacting Kenny Smith at 217-762-2735 before 9am on Monday, December 8, 2008.
Illini Shrine Club Hospital Fundraiser - 8" X 8" Magnetic Signs for cars with the new Shriner's Hospitals for Children Logo - $ 10.00 each. 2 - 16" X 16" Magnetic Signs with Shriner's Hospitals For Children Logo for Transport Vehicles - $ 90.00 for the set. These are available from Illini Shrine Club and are also available at the Ansar Shrine office.
The Silent Messenger Memorial Brick Walk - located in front of Ansar Shrine Center. Reasons to Honor: Honor a Shriner or Family Member, In Memory of a Shiner or Family Member, Honor Your Club or Unit. A 4 X 8 brick is $ 100.00, an 8 X 8 brick is $ 200.00. For more information call Ansar Shrine at 217-525-1771 or Chairman Ed Young at 217-487-7204. This is a fundraiser for the Ansar Shrine Clowns and contributions are not deductible as Charitable Contributions.
Illini Shrine Club Christmas Party and Installation is Saturday, December 13, 2008 at Hawthorne Suites on south Neil Street in Champaign. Social Hour starts at 6pm with a Steak Dinner starting at 7pm. Cost is $ 25.00 per plate. Scheduled entertainment is Ed Mason. Reservations need to be called in to Jeff Johnson by December 10, 2008 at 217-359-1049.
Illini Shrine Club Hog Raffle - Drawing to be held on Saturday, December 13, 2008 - there will be two winners and each will receive half a hog processed any way you want it at Chuck's Locker in Ivesdale. Ask any Illini Shrine Club member for tickets. All proceeds from this raffle benefit the Illini Hi-Lo Wheelers and are not deductible as charitable donations.
Pike County Shrine Club's Christmas Party will be held on Thursday evening, December 18, 2008 at The Red Dome Inn in Pittsfield. Camel's Milk at 6:30pm with Dinner served at 7:30pm. This year's dinner will offer two entrees': Prime Rib w.potato and salad for $ 23.00 per person or Zesty Orange Glazed Chicken w/potato and salad for $ 14.50 per person - tax and gratuity included with either entree'. Reservations will be cut off at 80 guests, so please make your reservations early.
Ansar Shrine December Stated Meeting Dinner - Friday, December 19, 2008 at Ansar Shrine Center. Social Hour at 5pm, Dinner Served at 6pm in the lower level of Ansar Center. Price is $ 50.00 per couple, $ 25.00 single. Price includes one bottle of wine per couple from Colliver's Winery. There will be a wine tasting for the ladies during the stated meeting. Dinner will include Lasagna, Garlic Bread, Salad, and Dessert. Your hosts are Mac and Terry McGlothlin. Make your reservations now!
Zorah Shrine Potentate Charlie Jones announces that Zorah will be having a New Year's Eve Party - $ 20.00 per person includes Dinner ( Steak, Potato, Veggie, Salad, & Dessert ) and party goodies. Live Music from 8pm to 1am ( Ind. time ) . This will be open to the public.
Also, Chippendales will be returning to Zorah Shrine on January 24, 2009.
The date for the 2009 Ansar Shrine Golf Outing is Friday, August 21, 2009 at Piper Glen Golf Club. This event was well attended in 2008, but we could still use more players. If we start talking about this event now, hopefully we can get all 144 golfers. We would like to have more hole sponsors as well. Thanks! - Bob Oitker, 2009 Golf Outing Chairman
