The following resolution was proposed and will be voted on at the next Stated
Meeting -
RESOLUTION AMENDING THE TEMPLE BYLAWS
Resolved, that the Bylaws of Ansar Shriners be amended by striking the current Section 5.3 and
substituting for it the following:
5.3 LIFE MEMBERSHIP. A member of this temple who has paid his dues for a
term of 50 years, whether or not the entire term was as a member of this temple, shall automatically be
granted life membership in this temple. Such a life member shall thereafter be exempt from the
temple's annual dues, and the temple shall remit any Imperial per capita and hospital levy owed by him.
The temple may otherwise create life members as prescribed by the bylaws of THE IMPERIAL
COUNCIL.

Tickets are being distributed for the Ansar Shrine Generator Raffle. This is a Guardian Quiet Source
100 amp 16kw automatic air cooled generator. It can run on propane or natural gas and comes with a
free transfer switch. Tickets are $ 25,00 each or 5 for $ 100.00. The drawing will be held on October
17, 2008. This is a fraternal fundraiser for Ansar Shrine, so please do all that you can to support this
fundraiser. Contact any member of the Divan, Officers, or Ambassadors for more information and to

Eastern Illinois Shrine Club / Edgar County Shrine Club Joint Meeting - Thursday, July 17 at The
Ridge in Ridgefarm, Illinois. Social starts at 6pm - Meal served at 7pm. There will be a short meeting
following the meal.
PIKE SHRINE CLUB - The July Summer Meeting will be held Saturday July 19th at Lyle and Ann
Revis home. Ladies invited. Happy Hour at 6 PM. Dinner at 7 PM. Reservation are needed by
Wednesday July 16th, call Lyle at 217-285-6605. Bring Lawn Chairs. Directions from Pittsfield: 250th
Ave. (El Dara-Pittsfield Gravel Road, road that goes past the Big Windmill). Turn North on 370th
Street, go 2 miles. Turn West at 270th Ave., go 1/2 mile West. House on South side of road. If you have

The Corn Belt Shrine Club website now contains a gallery of photographs taken of Shrine units in the
Mattoon 4th of July parade and the parade in Kansas. Besides the Ansar Cycle Patrol, there are shots
of the Safety Squad, Dune Buggies, Motor Clowns, and the Effingham Fire Patrol.

CHRISTMAS IN JULY – JULY 18TH – SPRINGFIELD MOTOR BOAT CLUB
The LOH Annual Christmas in July Party will be held Friday evening at the Springfield Motor Boat
Club on July 18th. Social hour will be from 6pm to 7pm. A buffet dinner will be served at 7pm. Now is
the time to help the kids at the St. Louis Shriners Hospital by bringing presents of the items listed below.
This is a family event, so bring your sons and daughters, and your grandchildren. Dinner and
entertainment will be provide - $25.00 per person. (Children are $12.50).

July 15th.
Just a reminder of what might be best for the kids – in all sizes, sweat pants and tops (solid colors) boys
and girls; boys need briefs, white t-shirts, and white tube socks. The girls need panties, white t-shirts,
and sleeping shirts, again, in all sizes. Quilts – size 60” x 90”, white standard pillow cases, white bath
towels and wash cloths, adult size baseball caps with team logos and cartoon characters, shorts in any
color in all sizes, halter tops, dresses in sizes 2 thru 14, adolescent items – bath and body sets, cassette
tapes or CDs, model kits with the glue, stationary and tote or sport bags. PLEASE REMEMBER – DO
NOT WRAP YOUR GIFTS.

Here is where I have been:
07-08 RASNA Shrine Club at the Jacksonville Elks. We had a good meal and 1 candidate.
07-09 Senior Patrol Meeting at F.O.P.
07-11 Pre-Pote's Bash at Ansar Shrine Center - We had 200 people in attendance with a great meal
served by the Cookie Unit. A good time was had by all.
07-12 Pote's Bash at the Orr Building at the State Fairgrounds. We had a fantastic time with a
great meal - there were 312 people in attendance.
Here is where I am going to be:
07-16 Christain County Shrine Club Pote's Night and Lady's Night at the Stonington American
Legion. Please contact Captain of the Guard Louie Van Hoos with your reservations at 217-529-2107 or
217-652-0941. Class B
07-17 Edgar County/Eastern Illinois Joint Meeting at The Ridge in Ridgefarm.
Social 6pm, Meal 7pm Class C
07-18 Ansar Board meeting at Ansar Shrine Center
LOH Christmas In July at Springfield Motor Boat Club - 6pm
** For any interested Nobles, we have beer for sale which was left over from the weekend. Cost is $
14.00 per case. We have Miller Lite, Bud, Bud Light, and Bud Select. **
Carlock Lodge # 904 located in Mechanicsburg, Illinois will celebrate their 100 Year Anniversary with
a rededication on Saturday, July 19 from 11am to 2pm. The Officers of the Grand Lodge of Illinois will
be present for this event.
