The ANSAR SHRINERS CIRCUS
"UNDER THE BIG TOP"
Circus Report
Dennie L. Miller
2004 Circus Chairman
APRIL - MAY 2004
Last year, Ansar had great circus attendance figures; almost 20,000+
people enjoyed the six performances of the circus.  This was accomplished
by the hard work and dedication of all the Nobles and their families, the
Uniform Units and the Shrine Clubs that make up the Ansar family.  Our
goal this year is to exceed last year’s totals.  This goal is achievable because
we are SHRINERS.

This year, the Royal Hanneford Circus will again perform at the PCCC on
Saturday, November 15 and Sunday, November 14, 2004. Preparations
are already underway. The Circus Kickoff Ads meeting was held on March
18. About 40 nobles attended and were treated to an outstanding meal
prepared by the Cookie Unit.  Our ad incentive program this year will
include membership in the $100 million dollar club, annual Ansar dues
payment, and the grand prize of Life-Time Ansar Dues payment. The total
incentive program was explained and the sales packages distributed. This
year our need for new circus ad salesmen is greater than ever before. Ads
are easy to sell and if you only sold two or three ads you would contribute
greatly to Ansar goal of $100,00 in ad sales. For more information on
becoming an ad salesman, please call me at 793-8707. The First Report
will be held on April 15, 2004 at 5:30 P.M., with dinner at 6:15 and the
meeting at 7:00 P.M.

Again this year, every issue of The Ansars will have a circus column, entitled
“Under the Big Top”, providing information and updates on the circus.
Your inputs and suggestions on how to make our circus better are always
welcome and encouraged.
FEBRUARY - MARCH 2004
THANK YOU - THANK YOU - THANK YOU

The 2003 Ansar Shrine Circus was an enormous success.  The fall weather
was perfect for our Circus attendance. We had almost 20,000 people in
attendance at the six performances. It is still too early to give you the figures
for attendance and concession sales, but we should exceed our profit goal.
In the next issue of
the ANSARS, I hope to provide you with an update.

Noble Dick Frederick did his usual outstanding job as Circus Performance
Chairman.  I cannot thank him enough for his continuous support. My
Assistant Circus Chairman, Mike Donaker, did everything in his power to
make the 2003 Circus a great success.  Thanks Mike for all your help. Joe
Lucas, Personnel Coordinator and Craig Kent, Concession Chairman did
superb jobs in making the circus run smoothly and professionally.  My job is
easy when I have help of this caliber.

And speaking of help, our circus volunteers once again did a marvelous job.
When I said we needed a lot of help, that is exactly what we got. We had
an average of about 100 workers per performance.  The turnout was simply
outstanding.  Our Ladies provided over 30% of our work force and we
could not have done the job without them. Simply saying thank you for your
help falls short of the deep appreciation the Potentate and I feel for our
circus workers, the Nobles, their Ladies, their families and friends, the
Uniform Units, and the Shrine Clubs.  You make me proud to be a member
of Ansar Shrine and you have my greatest respect. Thank you!!

2004 Ansar Shrine Circus

Plans are already underway for the 2004 Ansar Shrine Circus on
November 13 & 14, 2004. By now you have already  received a letter
outlining the
ANSAR CIRCUS CLUB.  This is our fifth year for the Ansar
Circus Club. For everyone who contributes
$10.00 or more, your name will
be identified on a Gold Page in the Circus Coloring Book on an Ansar
Circus Nobles Honor Roll. Additionally, anyone who contributes
$50.00 or
more will become a member of the Ringmasters Club and receive a beautiful
marble based silver plaque with your name engraved on it.  The year 2004,
in silver, will also be added to the plaque. Anyone who contributes
$100.00
or more will become a member of the Century Club and receive a beautiful
marble based
gold plaque with your name engraved on it.  The year 2004,
in gold, will also be added to the plaque. For those members renewing their
Ringmaster or Century Clubs membership, a 2004 tab will be mailed to you
for placement on your plaque.  Please consider joining or renewing your
membership in the Ansar Circus Club.  Your support would be greatly
appreciated.  Last year the Circus Club raised $14,500.  As we step into
the new 20th century, we will be faced with many new challenges.  As
members of Ansar Shrine, we will meet these challenges together and rise to
even greater heights in the support of our Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Have a very merry and joyous holiday season.
