Primary membership location: Central Illinois area

These Nobles take extensive efforts to dress as professional clowns and
entertain children at parades, parties, and special events. They are so
active that one can hardly attend any event in Ansar's territory without
seeing one in full regalia entertaining some children. They perform at the
annual Shrine Circus. These Nobles participate in competition with clowns
from all parts of the USA, Canada and Mexico and have won a number of
trophies for their outstanding work.

The Clown Unit was chartered in 1969 and has about 64 members.
They are located in all of Ansar jurisdiction.

It was a cold morning in Quincy, Illinois and a long walk to the step-off point of the
Dogwood Festival Parade. Herby decided to call a cab - The Tijuana Taxi Company.

Herby was getting second thoughts, but
what the hay, it's over a two mile walk
and the music is great!

When the cab finally shows up, the driver had
some monkey outfit on and was eating a
banana. The CD player was cranked up.

horn and a squeal of the tire, they're off.

The clowns provide their own costumes and supporting props. Herby (Hal Bast in
street clothes) hammered out this yellow beauty last Winter in his garage.

Hey...get a load of the silly biker trash.....

This great picture was just forwarded to me by Ro-Ho (thanks Ro-Ho).
The event took place this past weekend (July 28, 2007) as the Ansar
Shrine Clowns provided entertainment for "Kids Day" at COZIAHR's
HARLEY DAVIDSON -DECATUR, Illinois. Coziahr's made a great $
donation to the clown unit!!! A GREAT time was had by all, especially
the kids!.
