There are 193 Shrine Temples, with a total membership of more than 462,535 Nobles...Ansar, which was chartered July 13, 1915, is number 136 in seniority, but 17th in size...besides Ansar, there are four other Temples in Illinois: Ainad, East St. Louis; Medinah, Chicago; Mohammed, Peoria; Tebala, Rockford...as a Noble, you are always welcome at all of them! The total membership in the five Temples in Illinois is 19,007.
The word Ansar is Arabic and means "those Who Give Aid"...Ansar's Nobles try to do just that through their support of the 19 Shriners Hospitals for Children and 3 Burn Institutes Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63131, telephone 314-432-3600. The hospital would welcome a visit from you and your family.
We also refer a number of children to the hospital in Chicago and the burn hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.
